Anxiety can and does have a significant impact on people’s lives. For those struggling with anxiety, fear is a common symptom that holds people back from going after a new career or relationship.
What do you do if you are struggling with anxiety?
See a mental health professional:
A therapist or psychologist will be able to diagnose an anxiety condition properly. Along with the diagnosis, they will provide a treatment plan for treating anxiety. Treatment plans may include but are not limited to ongoing therapy, medication, self-care, and lifestyle changes.
Connect with others:
For those struggling with anxiety, it can feel isolating if you don’t know others with anxiety. You may feel alone in your thoughts and like no one else is going through what you are going through. The reality is, people, struggle with anxiety. One way to feel less alone is to join an anxiety support group to connect with others. Connecting with others to talk about anxiety and life will help you feel less alone.
Ask for help:
It is okay not to be okay, and it is okay to ask for help. If you are struggling with anxiety, most likely, it is impacting other aspects of your life, from family life to work. Reach out to your boss and say you are having a hard time. You both can talk about how you can get help while you are working through anxiety.
