To get started with journaling about mental health, you can write down your feelings over the day. This may help you identify situations where you felt anxious, sad, or stressed. If these negative situations are brought out into the open, it will be easier for you to deal with them. You can then slowly try and change your thoughts in a positive direction so as to feel better more often.

You could also start with something as simple as writing about things that make you happy or satisfied throughout the day. It may seem trivial but being aware of all the instances where we experience positive mental states will help us identify the situations that make us feel good. After identifying these positive mental health triggers, we should see how they can be replicated or enhanced more often in our lives.

5 Journaling Prompts:

  1. Write down 10 things that make you happy.
  2. Describe your perfect day.
  3. What inspires you?
  4. What do you want more of in your life?
  5. Write down 5 things you love about yourself.
